About Me

It’s nice to meet you. If you’re here then I’m going to assume one of two things: 1. Either you know who I am already, whether personally or through my work, or 2. you’re here by accident. Either way, I’m glad you’re here and I’m excited to welcome you into my wacky world of magic!

I am a Gardnerian initiate and have been a practicing Witch for as long as I can remember. You see, I was a very strange and unusual child and often found myself much of a recluse. I’d rather prefer the company of a good book over the other kids who just seemed so…incredibly…mundane. I remember spending time playing with an old Hawthorn tree that grew near our childhood home and making friends with a small toad who had taken to hanging around my front door and seeing my off to school each morning. I’d also make a point of sneaking out to steal flowers from my neighbors’s garden (our garden was much too nice to steal from!) and using them in ‘potions’ that I’d brew with rain water I collected in an old beach pail. Yes, magical things have always been a part of my life, as they are for most Witches. To the mundane world, these things may seem magical, mystical, but in the magical world, these things are relatively…normal.

As I grew (notice I didn’t say grew up!), I kept on with playing with trees, talking to toads, mixing potions, and, I’m certain, several other things that I can’t remember, and the whole time I was doing these things, I never once thought they were magical, and not once did I call myself a Witch. Then, in sixth grade, everything changed. One cold morning in January, not too far off from my birthday, I walked onto the bus, just like I normally do, and sat down next to my friend, Kristin, just like I did every morning. Then, out of no where, she made me a Witch in the most ridiculous way possible: she took a silver gel pen and grabbed my hand. Without asking, she drew a pentagram on my palm and said, “there, you’re a Witch now.” In that seemingly, simple moment; an instant of childish play between friends, I could feel something awaken within myself. I can still vividly remember my mind in that moment filling with images, words, thoughts, ideas, and beliefs that all seemed timeless, almost primal. I laughed it off, but I knew something had changed.

Later on that day, magical things just started to randomly happen. Another friend had brought in a tarot deck that she had somehow managed to acquire. It was the Dragon Tarot, and as my first exposure to tarot, this deck still holds a very special place in my heart. Later on that week (or maybe the week after, I can’t remember) I had walked up to another friend in the cafeteria who told me he was reading a book on Witchcraft that he got from his brother. I hadn’t even thought that there might be books on the Craft until then, and from that point forward I had made it my personal mission to obtain and study any books on the Craft that I could get my hands on!
